At the press conference hosted by the State Council Joint Infection Prevention and Control Mechanism on September 9, Wang Bin, deputy head of the Market Operation and Consumption Promotion Department of the Ministry of Commerce, said that MOFCOM has established an emergency liaison mechanism for commerce departments in 31 provincial-level administrative regions, and has secured more than 2 million masks and another 2 million instant noodle cups to meet the demand. Meanwhile MOFCOM is actively seeking more medical protective supplies from overseas. As of 12:00 February 8, China had received the donation of 7,026,200 medical masks, 299,500 protective gowns, 191,900 pairs of protective goggles and 3,571,700 pairs of medical gloves from 21 foreign governments and one international organization.
