Hebei sees 99.7% of industrial enterprises above the designated scale resume operation

Following the outbreak of COVID-19, the industry and information technology authorities across Hebei have responded swiftly, strengthened coordination in five aspects and gone all out to help industrial enterprises and small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) resume work and production, without comprising the effect of coronavirus prevention and control. 

As of March 25, 99.7% of the industrial enterprises above the designated scale in the province had resumed production, up by 86.6 percentage points from early February; 94.4% of employees had returned to work, up by 57.8 percentage points; 72.2% of SMEs had resumed production, up by 31.7 percentage points; and except for 19 suspended and seasonal enterprises, all the SMEs that boast specialized development, fine management, own characteristics and novelty had resumed operation. Thanks to that, from January to February, the added value of industrial enterprises above the designated scale in Hebei outgrew the national average by 4.1 percentage points. In particular, tobacco, pharmaceutical, electronic device manufacturing, agricultural and sideline food processing industries registered a remarkable growth of 25.2%, 12.5%, 9.8% and 3.7%, respectively.
