The Central Leading Group on the COVID-19 Response Calls for Particular Efforts in Prevention and Control of Asymptomatic Infections

Beijing, March 30 (Xinhua News Agency) On March 30, Li Keqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Prime Minister of the State Council and head of the Central Leading Group on the COVID-19 Response, chaired a meeting of the Central Leading Group.

To build up on prevention and control achievements and close loopholes, the meeting called for special efforts to do a good job in monitoring, tracking, isolating and treating asymptomatic patients of COVID-19. More targeted efforts should be made to screen asymptomatic infections, and the coronavirus test should be further extended to close contacts of confirmed cases and identified asymptomatic infections, key areas and groups with special needs. Once asymptomatic infections are found, they shall immediately get quarantined in government-designated facilities for medical observation and treatment, and their information disclosed in an open and transparent manner. We shall work resolutely to make sure that no such information is missed or delayed intentionally, find out the origin of infection as soon as possible, and isolate their close contacts for medical observation.
