Wuhan, April 26 (Reporters: Wang Xian, Le Wenwan) On the afternoon of April 26, Wuhan Municipal Health Commission announced that the second nucleic acid test came back negative for a 77-year-old patient surnamed Ding in Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital, whose clinical symptoms were resolved, good enough to leave hospital. Ding was the last coronavirus patient discharged in Wuhan.
Hubei and Wuhan are the decisive battlefields for China to win the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic. The victory there bears critically on the nationwide victory. Province-wide, the number of existing diagnosed cases in Hubei peaked at 50,633 (with 38,020 in Wuhan) on February 18, and fell to zero except for in Wuhan on April 14; and the cases in Wuhan dropped to double digits on April 21, and the hospitalized cases were reduced to zero on April 26. This marks a milestone achievement in COVID-19 treatment in Wuhan city and Hubei province.
