Chinese medical team flies to aid the DRC

        Shijiazhuang, May 12 (Gao Li) On the afternoon of May 11, a medical team comprising 12 medical experts from Hebei province departed for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) from Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport.

It’s learnt that the Chinese medical team will share China’s experience in containing the COVID-19 outbreak with local medical institutions and experts, and provide guidance and consultancy on local case screening and tracing, prevention and control of infectious diseases, case management, and clinical diagnosis and treatment. They will also train local medical workers and public health officials and help assess the general epidemic situation in the country.

The team is a mix of specialists from the fields of testing, respiratory medicine, in-hospital infection, critical care medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, infectious disease control and virus disease prevention and control. "I will bring with me my expertise, dedication and hard work and work with other experts to form a strong force in combatting COVID-19," said Wang Qi, a member of the team and deputy director of CT/MRI Department of the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University.
